Numark NS7

i have been wanting a DJ set for quite a while now. It took me a while to find the right set, and whenever i thought i found what is perfect for me, i find something that exceeds expectations. I have come across what i think is the perfect set, and my final decision. Im going to move into my own place soon, which gives me ton of space, and the chance to organize things however i want them to be. Being the technology freak that i am, i want to make my own semi-insulated chilling room, which works as a study, and a studio. The turntables are designed in cooperation with Serato, which are the number 1 computer software DJ programer. What they come up with is truly genius. see for yourself
Cost: aprox $1,300

Ah! If you have a higher budget I strongly recommand to get the Technics SL-DZ1200. These machines where the first Direct Drive, Digital turntables to be made, which allows you to play CD based tracks using its turntable / vinyl like surface + they look super good with the titanium like finish ;)

Watch the videos to see its capabilities, you will be surprised/

mm, 2 issues there .. The numark can connect directly to your laptop without sacrificing any direct play, i n other words there is no lag, just like with your CD's.. It's just a little more convenient having your library right there. Now personally, i have started DJing with Pioneers, so without a doubt :P they would have been my first call.. The price tag is a little too high though. The technics cost 1,200 a turntable, whereas the the numark cost that much all together.
The ideal thing would be to have a device that can handle a computer control really well, and CD's too ..
what do you think? do u DJ ?

Yes I do DJ and produce some electronic music on the side.
You can stream / download some of my mixes from: http://patricksemaan.com/v3/music/

Personally I like turntables, I like the real, basic thing, the vinyl. I just love the crispy grainy sound at it.. I also spin on CD's and my favourite equipments are by far the Pioneers CDJ's. But I agree with you, If you want good connectivity and compatibility with PC, Numark is a better choice and cheaper.

Where you in Kuwait when Virgin had the 2nd Annual Dj Championship? It was sometime in 2002.. I won the 2nd place, Dj Shadow was first..

The first event was a flopp, second was a bit better. I remember being the only person playing electronic, every one was mixing hip hop / r&b and the security was tight, trying not to let people dance or groove, hehe, good times!
